On Saturday my friends and I went to the annual Earth Day Festival in downtown Santa Barbara. I went last year with Anthony and I can’t believe a year went by so fast!

This year Anthony had a show to rehearse for, so I went with our friends Ben and Amanda. Yay for day drinking partners!

IMG_3258 IMG_3237 IMG_3257 It was SUCH a gorgeous day. Warm in the sun, perfectly cool and breezy in the shade. While I was waiting for Amanda and Ben, I bought a top from the Crossroads booth there – my favorite second-hand store downtown. I even won a free necklace! I love events like this. I’ll make sure to show you what I got when I wear it (probably the first chance I get next week).

IMG_3244 IMG_3259 I also love that Firestone beer is always within arms reach in Santa Barbara. Ice cold DBA on draft made this day even more perfect.

IMG_3250 IMG_3260 I was pretty excited about my hairdo, I’m not gonna lie. I was inspired by a girl at work who had some low pinned braids the other day. I loved how it kept my hair out of my face all day, but I still felt kind of dolled up.

IMG_3251 IMG_3238 While we were sitting on the grass drinking beer, this little guy crawled onto my lap and started cuddling with me. Swoon.  IMG_3263 There were so many cute dogs EVERYWHERE. It was driving me crazy. I want one so bad so that next year we can take our own little pup. Santa Barbara is such a dog-friendly town and I’m dying to take advantage of it. IMG_3265 IMG_3243 Earth Day kicks off a string of festivals in Santa Barbara over the summer – there is so much I’m looking forward to. Solstice, Fiesta, and Anthony’s birthday are all coming up and I’m so excited! I won’t forget to share the festivities with you guys, and definitely consider visiting because it’s the best time of year in SB!

What a lovely picture of Emily and Kirby. I have met lovely, glowing Emily, but not Kirby yet. I am Emily’s great, great Aunt Lillie who just in the last few years found my nephew Bud (Ted Landkammer, Emily’s grandpa) through the internet doing ancestry search.

Wow Lillie that’s amazing! Well I can tell you Kirby is the greatest guy. Hope I can meet you some day, too! I have met your nephew and he is the sweetest man. P.S. Emily does glow, doesn’t she? :)
