My friend Amanda sent me this article from Career Girl Daily at work the other day – it’s about how to wear suede dresses this fall. Amanda just got a new suede skirt that we have been obsessing over, so this was relevant. I haven’t even seen it yet, and I’m still excited – it looks something along these lines:

I am very into this, guys. However, the dress thing was a little more complicated in my book. These overwhelm me and scream 90s disaster:

(Amanda likes the red one, but without the tie… It reminds me of red velvet and Christmas outfits from when I was six…)

However. VERY into the skirt thing.

And I do like these from the Career Girl post:

How do you feel about this trend? Too 70s? I don’t have any suede in my closet yet, but I’m going to keep an eye out for the perfect piece to incorporate into my wardrobe.

Love it! I totally was going to wear the suede skirt I have with a stripy shirt like the first photo! Now it just needs to get cool enough to wear it.

I love the skirts but feel the same way about the dresses… the shapes they’re coming in just look cray cray. But the skirts…omg they’re so cute and I love the rich texture they add to fall outfits. I want oneee

Ya, I like some of the dresses in the article, in theory – but I feel like the shape would be stiff and awkward because of the material. But in the right color and cut, it could be cool – especially because of the texture, like you said. I would love to add different textures to my outfits, and not just cotton and denim and cotton and denim….but I would definitely start with a skirt.

I am the first to say I am not the most fashion forward individual. Living in southern CA, suede is a look I can’t seem to incorporate, especially when it’s been soooo hot lately. A suede jacket in our winter months maybe, anything else isn’t for me.
